56 Town Hall base 8 layouts live on this site, sorted across war (33), trophy (11), farming (4), and anti-3-star (4). Bomb Tower is the single new defense that unlocks at TH8 and reshapes anti-Hog and anti-Giant design more than any other building. Mass Dragons, GoWiPe, and Hog rushes are the three attack styles every layout needs to punish.
Town Hall base 8 unlocks the Bomb Tower as its headline new defense, plus higher level caps on existing buildings, a 4th Hidden Tesla slot, and the 4th Air Defense. Inferno Tower, Eagle Artillery, X-Bow, and Scattershot are not available at TH8.
The Bomb Tower changes anti-ground design more than any other TH8 unlock. It splash-damages on every shot and detonates on death, hitting groups of clustered ground troops twice. Place it where Hog Riders and Giants naturally path through, between Storages or at the front of the inner compartment, not in a corner where the attacker never reaches it.
The other defenses available at TH8 are Cannon, Archer Tower, Mortar, Air Defense, Air Sweeper, Wizard Tower, Hidden Tesla, and the Bomb Tower. Wizard Towers do most of the splash work because Inferno Towers and Scattershot are still two Town Hall levels away. Ignore guides that mention Inferno or Eagle at this level: they are wrong for TH8.
The right Town Hall base 8 layout depends on what you actually do this week, not which layout has the highest YouTube view count. Three goals dominate at TH8: clan war participation, hero or storage farming, and trophy pushing.
If your clan is at war, pick a TH8 war base or anti-3-star design. The marginal star decides war outcomes, so a base that consistently holds attackers to 2 stars is worth more than one that sometimes gives 1 star but sometimes gives 3.
If you are upgrading the Barbarian King or Dark Elixir Drill, pick a TH8 farming layout. Place the Dark Elixir storage in the deepest core compartment alongside the Clan Castle. Gold and Elixir storages can sit in mid-layer compartments because these resources are easier to recover.
If you are pushing trophies in Crystal or Master, pick a TH8 trophy base. The Town Hall sits in the absolute center, ringed by 2 wall layers and Wizard Tower splash coverage. Outer compartments hold storages that attackers will steal regardless. Goal: keep the Town Hall standing so the loss is 1 star instead of 2.
A Town Hall base 8 layout needs to punish three attack styles: mass Dragons, GoWiPe (Golem plus Wizards plus PEKKA), and Hog rushes. Every other TH8 attack reduces to a variant of one of these three.
Mass Dragons are the most common TH8 war attack because Dragons unlock at TH7 and require minimal skill to deploy. Spread Air Defenses across separate compartments. Two Air Defenses on the same side give the attacker a safe entry corridor on the opposite side.
GoWiPe is the dominant ground attack, especially in higher-stakes wars. Anti-3-star design requires a centralized Town Hall, splash defense distributed across compartments, and Bomb Tower placement that catches the PEKKA path before she reaches the core.
Hog rushes crack predictable bases that line up defenses in pairs. Hogs jump wall to wall but get stuck on Bomb Tower splash. Spring Traps placed between defense pairs disable Hogs mid-attack and remove the cleanup wave. Browse all TH8 war bases for layouts built to punish these three attack styles.
You copy a Town Hall base 8 layout by tapping the share link on a mobile device. The game opens, asks which base slot to overwrite, and imports the walls, traps, and defenses in their original positions.
On desktop, copy the link to a phone via Discord, message, or AirDrop, then tap from the phone. The full mobile and desktop walkthrough is on the copy base link guide.
Layouts on this site come from in-game share links and are verified against the current 2026 meta, in line with Supercell Fan Content Policy. Share links never expire.
Five mistakes show up repeatedly in weak Town Hall base 8 layouts. Each is a free defensive upgrade that costs nothing to fix.
Air Defenses clustered on one side. Dragons drift toward the nearest Air Defense. A spread pattern (typically a triangle at three Air Defenses, a diamond at four) denies any safe air entry corridor.
Bomb Tower in a quiet corner. A Bomb Tower the attacker never reaches is wasted. Place it on the highest-traffic ground lane, near a Storage cluster or at the front of an inner compartment.
Town Hall on an edge. Easy 1 star for trophy raids, easy 50 percent for war. Centralize unless you are explicitly running an anti-2-star strategy.
Single thick wall layer instead of two. TH8 walls upgrade to skull tier, but a single layer falls in seconds to massed Wall Breakers. Two layers around the Town Hall and Storages break the standard 4-Wall-Breaker army composition.
Predictable funnel sides. Storages clustered on the same side tell attackers exactly where to drop spells. Rotate Army Camps and Storages around the perimeter.
