Legend League is the top trophy tier in Clash of Clans, entered automatically at 5,000 trophies. It uses a unique daily-reset format where players get exactly 8 attacks and 8 defenses per day, with trophies transferred 1:1 between attacker and defender.
Legend League is qualitatively different from Titan League and below. Once you cross 5,000 trophies, the matchmaking and trophy systems switch to a fixed-attack format that runs on a daily clock instead of a shield system. There are no shields in Legend League — your base is always available to be attacked, but only by 8 different opponents per day.
The practical effect is that Legend League is more like a competitive ranked ladder than a casual progression. Top-100 global leaderboards are achievable here for players willing to commit time to all 8 daily attacks. The skill ceiling is high — base design and attack execution both matter equally.
Each Legend League player gets 8 attacks and up to 8 defenses per day. The day resets at 5:00 UTC. Trophy transfer is 1:1 — if you win 40 trophies on attack, the defender loses exactly 40. Loot earned is generated by the game (defender does not lose any).
The 8-attack window resets every 24 hours at the global Legend League reset (5:00 UTC). Unused attacks do not roll over. Players who consistently complete all 8 attacks and play active defense climb significantly faster than those who skip days.
The defense cap (max 8 per day) protects you from being attacked indefinitely. If 8 different players attack you within a 24-hour window, your base goes "out of pool" until the reset. This is why many top players intentionally enable maximum defenses early in the day — getting all 8 defenses out of the way preserves consistency.
Loot is generated rather than transferred. Whatever the attacker earns from your base is created by the game — you lose nothing on defense. This makes Legend League a pure trophy contest.
At the start of each Legend League day, the game takes a snapshot of your current base layout. For the next 24 hours, all opponents who attack you face that frozen snapshot — even if you upgrade buildings or change your active layout in the meantime.
The snapshot is taken when you complete your first attack of the day, locking your defensive layout for the next 24 hours of opponent attacks. This protects you from accidentally exposing a half-built upgrade to attackers. It also means the layout you switch to right before bed is the layout you defend with all night, regardless of what you change during the next morning.
The practical rule: pick your defensive layout carefully and keep it stable. Many Legend League players maintain a dedicated "Legend defense base" they never modify mid-season, separate from the layout they use for attacking and farming.
Use an anti-2 star base in Legend League. Trophy loss is calculated per star, so a base that consistently limits attackers to 1 star (Town Hall survives) preserves more trophies than an anti-3 star base that always gives up 2 stars.
Anti-2 star designs centralize the Town Hall in the most-protected compartment with multiple Inferno Towers and the full point-defense ring focused on it. Outer storages and collectors are sacrificed deliberately — their loss does not affect trophies. The math is simple: 1 star = small trophy loss, 2 stars = medium, 3 stars = large.
At the very top of Legend League (Top 200 global), bases trend toward "anti-everything" hybrids that perform reasonably against every attack type. At the lower edge of Legend League (5,000–5,500 trophies), pure anti-2 star is more effective because the attacker pool is less varied.
